Family Time Magazine hosts 12th annual Autism Seminar Nov. 16.

First-class speakers and cutting-edge exhibitors will be at the Family Time Magazine's 12th annual Autism and Special Needs seminar on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Moraine Valley Community College in Building M, Conference and Business Center in Palos Hills. Vendor booths can be visited from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and speakers will be giving presentations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attendees will hear from speakers and learn from vendors offering unique resources for families with children and loved ones with autism and other developmental disabilities. A wide variety of knowledge will be covered at the event including the latest research, revolutionary therapies, strategies for coping, networking opportunities, Q&A sessions with the experts and more. Allergy-free cleansing products, toys, fitness classes and allergen-free food and supplements will be available to purchase.

This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Peter J. Smith, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UChicago Medicine, and a highly respected advocate for children with complex medical needs, neurodevelopment disabilities, developmental delays and disorders and behavioral difficulties. He will speak on "The Evolution of Expert' Thought in ASD" at 10:15 a.m.

Dr. Smith will be joined by expert speakers that will present throughout the day from the Neuropsychology Autism Initiative, The Neuroconnection, Rush University Medical Center, Autism Home Support, Advocate Children's Hospital, and other autism specialists.
