Family's joy at return of beloved pup.

Byline: SARAH SCOTT

A FAMILY have been reunited with their beloved pup which was stolen from their home on Boxing Day.

Anna Cummings and partner Alan Snoddy were left distraught after enjoying a wonderful Christmas with nine-year-old daughter Morgan and family.

Their home in Co Antrim was targeted overnight and the family woke on Boxing Day morning to discover five-month-old Rufus had been taken by crooks who also made off with the presents.

But, thanks to the public's help, the family from Crossreagh Drive in Rathcoole, Newtownabbey, have been reunited with their pet pooch.

Anna, 29, said: "I am on top of the world, that's the only way I can describe it. We are so happy to have him home. If it wasn't for messages from the public we never would have got him back.

"I want to say a big thank everyone who helped particularly the Monkstown community, we are just so happy."

Vigilant members of the public were keeping an eye out for Rufus, a cross between a pug and a Cavalier King Charles.

Anna revealed she was sent a picture of a woman with their dog and was able to locate her using Facebook.
