Fall events hosted by Pilsner Urquell

Czechoslovakia's Pilsner Urquell has been following up on its "The World Has a Taste for Freedom" campaign with the sponsorship a series of cultural events in major cities across the country.

The events honor the cultural heritage of the Czechoslovakian people and salute the talents of some of the world's most innovative artists. With its April sponsorship of the San Francisco International Film Festival and its June sponsorship of "Ingmar Bergman on Stage" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music both under the brand's belt, the brand is now moving into fall with a wide array of events.

In mid-September, Pilsner will sponsor the Washington Performing Arts Society's "Antonin Dvorak Festival" at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The festival will celebrate the Czechoslovakian composer's contribution to and continuing influence on American music.

On another musical note, Pilsner Urquell will be the exclusive sponsor of the nationwide "What is Jazz? Festival Tour" held in conjunction with the Knitting Factory in New York City. With the help of the brand, three jazz music-makers--the Jazz Passengers, the Semantics and the Thomas Chapin Trio -- will go on a 15-city tour, including Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, Dallas and Minneapolis.

Teaming with Spy magazine, "Ivanarama" New Yorkers were able to celebrate two of America's favorite Czech imports: Pilsner Urquell and Ivana Trump. The event took place at New York's Danceteria in mid-September, and featured Pilsner Urquell, music and an Ivana look-alike contest.
