Fair deal for tenants; & COMMENT DEBATE YOUR LETTERS TO THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER OF WALES.

* SIR - We read a lot about struggling first-time buyers and social housing improvements, but what about the raw deal that private tenants get? Not only are many subject to short-term tenancies with the insecurity that this entails, but apart from rising rents and cuts in housing benefit allowances imposed by the UK government, there are the rip-off so-called admin fees of hundreds of pounds just for a few pieces of paperwork and a credit check.

In Scotland such fees are outlawed, so why not here? It's time that private tenants received a fairer deal and it's up to the Welsh government to include this in its new housing policy.
