Facelift in spotlight.

RESIDENTS are to be shown how more than pounds 700,000 of home improvements will be carried out on their estate.

More than 70 people from Centurion Way, Sheriff Hill, Gateshead, are being invited to see the choices available as part of the revamp.

The event, organised by The Gateshead Housing Company, is place on August 10 from 10am until 3pm at Greencroft Club, Windy Nook Road, Sheriff Hill.

Company chief executive Bill Fullen said: "These local events give customers having Decent Homes work a chance to see improvements such as new bathrooms, kitchens and doors at first hand."

Work will start in October on the estate and should be completed by next February.
