Facebook closes mental health site; WEBSITE.

A chat forum which pokes fun at people with mental health issues has been shut down by the social networking website Facebook.

The site, called Celebrity Mental Spotting, encouraged people to take pictures of people with mental health problems in Leamington Spa.

Hundreds of people logged in to see the photos on the web page, branded 'disgusting' and 'appalling'.

One subscriber is also understood to have identified two Leamington men who have had mental problems and said: "Let's get them drunk, get them to fight and film them."

Mental health charities and organisations were outraged by the site which was created by Kerry Whittleton, a 25-year-old office worker, from Leamington.

Ms Whittleton has now set up The Leamington Spa Celebrity Eccentric Appreciation Society.
