 FUTURES AND OPTIONS 1992 -- THE EIGHTH CANADIAN AND
 INTERNATIONAL FUTURES AND OPTIONS CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
 MONTREAL, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Eighth Canadian and International Futures and Options Conference and Exhibition is being held in Montreal on June 8, 9 and 10, 1992, at the Bonaventure Hilton International Hotel.
 Futures and Options 1992 is an important forum for members of the financial industry to discuss ways that will encourage the growth of dynamic derivative markets in Canada; a development which will strengthen the country's capital markets and give corporate and institutional end users the tools they need to improve the performance of their portfolios. The conference is timely because of regulatory reforms that allow Canadian pension funds to increase their foreign holdings: derivative products give portfolio managers increased flexibility in their investment decisions. The Honorable Gilles Loiselle, president of the treasury board and minister of state for finance, will officially open the conference on Tuesday, June 9.
 Futures and Options 1992 is sponsored by the Canadian Securities Institute, the Montreal Exchange, the Toronto Futures Exchange and the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange with the support of the Royal Bank of Canada, the Caisse de dpt et placement du Quebec and the City of Montreal.
 It will bring together leading Canadian and international experts for discussions on a wide range of subject matter that specifically address the concerns of derivative product end users. Major themes are:
 -- using derivative markets (financial instruments and commodities);
 -- innovative trading strategies and hedging techniques, including asset allocation and portfolio diversification;
 -- new products available both in Canada and in foreign markets;
 -- pricing models
 -- changing industry perspectives and recent developments, including automation.
 Futures and Options 1992 is of great interest to pension plan sponsors, managers and advisors, fund managers, corporate and institutional treasurers, analysts and brokers, risk managers and hedgers, speculators as well as financial journalists and commentators.
 For more information, delegates and all interested parties from the financial community should communicate with JPdL Multi Management Inc. in Montreal at 514-287-1070 or with the Canadian Securities Institute in Toronto at 416-364-9130. Journalists should call the Montreal Exchange's Public Affairs Department at 514-871-2424.
