FUTURE IS ORANGE FOR BARNEY.

Byline: MIKE WALTERS

CLOGFATHER Raymond van Barneveld eased through to the second round at Ally Pally - by beating a man in orange.

The five-time world champion (left) only dropped three legs in a 3-0 win over Romsey's Richard North at the William Hill PDC world championship.

North's orange shirt was like a red rag to Van Barneveld as the Dutchman booked a secondround date with Aussie Kyle Anderson in the last match before the Christmas break.

Barney clinched a routine win on double top and he averaged 102 without ever looking hurried.

He said: "I still have the hunger and I proved it tonight.

At other tournaments I might finish the game feeling tired, but tonight I was full of energy.

"Everyone knows this championship is special to me - maybe I've stored all the energy I need for the next few weeks."
