FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD FOR ELEPHANT TRAINER AXEL GAUTIER

 VIENNA, Va., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Funeral services for Axel Gautier, elephant trainer for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for 35 years, will be held Monday, May 10, in his hometown of Venice, Fla.
 The Gautier family will receive visitors at the Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel at 265 S. Nokomis Ave. in Venice, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church at Avenida Del Circo and Field Avenue. Friends are invited to gather immediately following the services in the Triplett Enrichment Center at Grace United Methodist Church.
 Axel Gautier, 51, was an elephant trainer and featured performer with the 122nd Edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Born in Breslau, Germany, in 1942, he first joined The Greatest Show on Earth in 1958 and became one of the best-known elephant trainers in the world. He died in an accident involving an elephant at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Elephant Farm near Gainesville, Fla., on Wednesday, May 5.
 Axel Gautier is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons who are also elephant trainers with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Michael, 28, and Kevin, 23; daughter-in-law Danielle; two-year-old grandson Eric; three sisters and a half-brother. The Gautier family requests that in lieu of flowers, a flowering tree be planted in your community as a living memorial to Axel.
