FSCT issues call for papers for 2006 Annual Meeting Technical Program.

The FSCT is seeking technical papers to be considered for presentation at the FSCT Annual Meeting Program, to be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, in New Orleans, LA, November 1-3, 2006. To be held in conjunction with the International Coatings Expo, the FSCT's 84th Annual Meeting will feature a variety of program sessions on the leading technical work in the industry. The theme of the Annual Meeting Program is "Green Adaptation--Global Ingenuity."

The ICE Program Committee, chaired by Latoska N. Price, of Akzo Nobel Coatings Inc., Troy, MI, is soliciting presentations in the following areas:

* Non-Polluting Coatings

* Manufacturing/Processing

* Film Formation

* Technology Transitioning

* Environmental Friendly Coatings

* Pigments & Additives

* Radiation/UV Curing

* Compliant Technologies

* Ti[O.sub.2] in Coatings

* Green Chemistry

* Polyurethane Technologies

* Hybrid Systems

* Latex Technologies

* Corrosion and Adhesion

* Rheology and Applications

* High Throughput Methods

* Surfactants and Defoamers

* Weathering/Durability

* Advances in Analytical Methods

* Nanotechnology

* Wood Coatings

Information for Speakers

Those interested are requested to provide a 75-100 word abstract by February 27, 2006, along with contact information (author name(s); company name, address, phone, fax and email address) to: Rod Moon, FSCT, at the address listed below.

Subsequent to abstracts being accepted for the Annual Meeting Program, presenters will be required to submit a paper for publication in the Proceedings by September 15, 2006.

Each presenter is required to register for the Annual Meeting Program. Speakers will receive a complimentary registration for the day they speak. A full Annual Meeting Program discount will also be available. Speakers will not be compensated. Speakers are expected to pay their own travel, lodging, and per diem expenses.

Selection Criteria

All abstracts will be reviewed by the ICE Program Committee. Abstracts will be evaluated for originality, quality, and relevance to the industry. Papers should reflect the highest professional standards, and content should not be promotional or commercial in character.

John A. Gordon Best Paper Award

The John A. Gordon Best Paper Award will be presented for the best paper contributed to the Annual Meeting Program. Papers will be judged based on:

* Technical merit, including objectivity and experimental design

* Relevance to coatings technology and its impact on the industry

The author(s) of the award-winning paper will receive a total of $1,000 cash award and an inscribed certificate.

This award commemorates the contributions of noted educator John A. Gordon to the coatings profession.

Those authors who wish their papers to be considered for the John A. Gordon Best Paper Award must submit their papers by August 11, 2006.
