FSA to launch trial online company information system.

TOKYO, Sept. 18 Kyodo

The Financial Services Agency (FSA) said Monday it will launch online from October a trial company information system, in which firms can submit and view financial statements via the Internet.

The system is scheduled to be put in place formally next June.

Companies that wish to access the new system are advised to apply from Oct. 2 to Nov. 20. and submit their statements during the period from Nov. 1 to Jan. 31, 2001, the FSA said.

The new online system, adopted in May when a revision to the Securities and Exchange Law was made, is aimed at alleviating the burden of company paperwork and making it easier for investors to use company information.
