FRIGIDAIRE COMPANY SELECTS EDS AS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND VALUE-ADDED SERVICES PROVIDER

 DALLAS, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Frigidaire Company and EDS today announced a 10-year relationship in which EDS will assume responsibility for corporate information technology services for the Dublin, Ohio, appliance manufacturer.
 This comprehensive relationship is designed to improve customer service responsiveness, enhance innovation and improve quality. In addition, Frigidaire expects to strengthen an enterprise-wide integration capability, rationalize multiple manufacturing and engineering systems, and evaluate other current systems.
 EDS also will provide value-added consulting engagements that offer a high potential for identifying additional operational savings. In particular, EDS will perform a Business Information Planning (BIP) engagement designed to develop and align an information technology plan that maps directly to Frigidaire's business plan, strategies and vision. "We view this as a strategic business partnership that will help us be more effective in meeting our business and information needs," said Arjan Gursahaney, Frigidaire executive vice president for marketing. "Working with EDS also will provide economies of scale and assure the latest information technology and processes are applied to our business. It gives Frigidaire Company the tools and expertise to enhance service levels to our customers."
