FREE PHONE CALLS: HOLIDAY GIFT FROM RESIDENCE INN BY MARRIOTT; $39-$79 HOLIDAY RATES ALSO ANNOUNCED

 WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- If being home for the holidays is not possible for travelers, calling home is the next best thing -- especially when it's free.
 Between Nov. 24, 1993, and Jan. 2, 1994, guests at the nation's 183 Residence Inn by Marriott hotels who pay with their American Express Card will receive a holiday gift of up to $10 of free long-distance phone calls per stay. This offer applies to calls charged to the guest's room.
 In a related announcement, Residence Inn today launched special holiday rates, ranging from $39-$79, available between Nov. 24, 1993, and Jan. 16, 1994, at participating hotels. The available days of week and rates vary by hotel; travelers are encouraged to call the Residence Inn toll-free number, 800-331-3131, for information and reservations.
 All Residence Inn hotels offer spacious suites, each featuring a fully-equipped kitchen and many including fireplaces. Complimentary daily continental breakfast and weekday hospitality hours are standard, as is free grocery shopping service.
 The Residence Inn "free phone calls" promotion does not apply to Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; Courtyard by Marriott; or Fairfield Inn hotels.
