 FRED DRYER ENTERS INTO EXCLUSIVE
 MULTIYEAR AGREEMENT WITH PARAMOUNT PICTURES
HOLLYWOOD, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fred Dryer has entered into an exclusive multiyear agreement with Paramount Pictures under which he will develop and produce and star in both motion pictures and television, it was announced today.
Under his newly formed banner of Fred Dryer Productions, he brings with him to Paramount a movie deal with NBC, where he will produce and star in three telefilms. Additionally, he will develop properties for both features and television in which he will produce and/or act.
"Fred Dryer is a star all over the world, due to 'Hunter,'" said Paramount's Chairman Brandon Tartikoff. "I also know him to be a consummate producer from that series, and I'm thrilled we're reunited for television and movies at Paramount."
Dryer has optioned for feature development John Clarkson's first novel "And Justice for One" (Crown), a tough, hard-edged thriller in which Dryer will portray a special investigator who gets caught up in the seedy world of Manhattan's after-hours clubs when his brother nearly gets killed in one. Clarkson will adapt his novel for the screen, and Victor Schiro will produce for Fred Dryer Productions.
Dryer is best known for his portrayal of the tough but compassionate cop on "Hunter," which ran on NBC for seven seasons, from 1984 til 1991. He was also executive producer of the series for the last two seasons and directed several episodes.
Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Paramount Communications Inc.
