ATLANTIC CITY; ENTERTAINER TO PARTICIPATE IN SANDS PROMOTIONS
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Sinatra, long known as the "Chairman of the Board," has been named Honorary Chairman of the Board as part of the extension of his present contract with the Sands Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
Sinatra, who is marking his second year on the famed Copa Room stage with five performances, today through Sunday, Nov. 24, now has an arrangement which brings him to the Sands three times a year in 1992 and 1993. He will also lend his name and likeness to promote the Sands, its entertainment and amenities.
"When Frank Sinatra sings, the world stops to listen," said Sands President Bradley H. Stone. "When the greatest performer in the world endorses the Sands, we believe people will listen and respond."
Concerning Sinatra's status as "Chairman of the Board," Stone stated, "Frank promises no changes in management! We're confident The Best is Yet to Come,' that Luck will be a Lady' and new guests will visit the Sands from Chicago' to New York, New York.'"
The first phase of the advertising campaign is the taping of a television commercial featuring Sinatra, which was filmed yesterday at the Sands and will air beginning in the spring of 1992.
Sinatra's first casino performance ever was in the famed Sands Copa Room in Las Vegas in October of 1953.
