FRANCES TRAYNOR: David is a Blaine in the...
SHAME on those who gathered to watch the climax of David Blaine's latest and most boring `magical' feat.
Man goes to London and ends up sleeping rough, without food and sympathy. Big deal.
Thousands of unfortunates live that way inLondon all the time. But unlike the American illusionist, they don't get taken to private hospitals when they've had enough and want some attention.
They have to struggle on without hope or help and they don't even have theluxury of living in a glass box. There is no applause at the end for any of them, usually a lonely death, yet when Blaine stepped out of his box he was in tears.
It's the rest of us who have to put up with the ridiculous behaviour of exhibitionistslike him who should have been weeping now that he was free again.
But who knows, maybe if we encourage this utterly boring yank he might just perform one final magic trick and make himself disappear.
