FPL'S BUSINESS ENERGY EXPO '93 OPENS WEDNESDAY AT BROWARD COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER

 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Power & Light Company's Business Energy Expo '93 opens Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. The three-day conference and trade show, now in its second year, is designed to promote energy conservation among FPL's commercial, industrial and governmental customers.
 Among the attractions at Business Energy Expo will be an exhibit hall with nearly 100 manufacturers displaying the latest in energy products. Also on tap is a continuous schedule of breakout sessions on a variety of energy topics hosted by some of the industry's leading experts. FPL President Stephen Frank will kickoff the event with a welcome address at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
 "Business Energy Expo allows our commercial, industrial and governmental customers to explore the newest trends in energy management, see new products and learn how other companies successfully have reduced their energy costs," said George Sullivan, FPL vice president, commercial and industrial customer services.
 The event also will feature an appearance by Neil Walker, director of marketing for Edison Electric Institute, a Washington D.C.-based association of investor-owned electric utilities. Walker will deliver the event's keynote address on Thursday, Aug. 19, at noon.
 New developments, products and applications will be featured in such areas as: heating, ventilating and air conditioning, lighting, power quality, building envelope, water heating, process equipment, load management, stand-by generators and energy management systems.
 Business Energy Expo '93 is being promoted through FPL's regional offices to its commercial, industrial and governmental customers. Last year's inaugural event attracted nearly 500 attendees and exhibitors.
 Event times and dates are:
 -- Wednesday, Aug. 18, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Registration and check-
 in begins at 8 a.m.)
 -- Thursday, Aug. 19, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
 -- Friday, Aug. 20, 8-11:30 a.m.
 Registration is $100 for full, three-day attendance, and $45 for single-day attendance. Admission includes lunch and parking in the convention center garage. On-site registration is available, beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
 The Broward County Convention Center is located inside Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, at 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard.
