FOUR NEW JOURNALS LAUNCHED BY ELSEVIER SCIENCE.
Elsevier Science (New York) has begun the publication of four new journals, including Electronic Commerce, Journal of Light Metals, International Journal of Transport Management and Ecological Indicators.Electronic Commerce is an interdisciplinary journal designed to offer research, development and implementation results which address "the challenges of the information society," Elsevier said, including economics, policymaking and standardization, business and public services, middleware and information systems. Editorial focuses on such topics as: changing economics; electronic marketplaces; virtual and networked workplaces; knowledge management; service creation; usability; and, best practices. An annual subscription costs $305.
The Journal of Light Metals and its accompanying Web site, LightMetals. Net, are designed to be a "multi-media forum for light metals research," Else- vier said. The journal will be published quarterly and carries original research related to the light metals in the areas of processing, microstructure development, and related properties and performance. The Web site includes full-text of the journal with additional abstracts, articles, patents, proceedings, and related review papers from other print journals. An annual subscription, including access to the Web site, costs $525.
The International Journal of Transport Management will be published quarterly and is being targeted to executives and academics in the field of transport management. Designed to focus on the analysis of transportation systems and services and their impact on society, the journal takes a multidisciplinary approach to a subject traditionally confined to civil engineering and business interests. Elsevier said editorial for the journal covers issues and concerns associated with managing networks of transportation facilities and services. An annual subscription costs $243.
Finally, the aim of Ecological Indicators is to help integrate the monitoring and assessment of ecological and environmental indicators with management practices. Targeted to scientists, executives and resource managers working with or using ecological and environmental indicators, the new title provides a forum for the discussion of the applied scientific development and review of traditional indicator approaches. To be published quarterly, an annual subscription to the journal costs $329.
