FOUNTAIN OF ETERNAL LIFE MONUMENT DEDICATED
 AT WAR MEMORIAL MALL SATURDAY
At 11 a.m. Saturday (May 30), dedication ceremonies will be held for the new War Memorial Mall (formerly Mall A) in downtown Cleveland, including the refurbished Fountain of Eternal Life Monument. The public is invited.
The monument was created by master sculptor Marshall Fredericks during a 19-year period and placed on the mall in 1964 as a memorial to the veterans and fallen heroes of all wars. The monument was beautifully refurbished over the past few years and restored to the mall. Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks will attend the dedication ceremonies Saturday, the traditional Memorial Day.
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) spearheaded a $1.5 million fund-raising campaign to refurbish the monument. Ford Motor Company contributed $250,000, and the rest was donated by Cleveland area companies and individuals. Ford's involvement is part of the company's ongoing role in contributing to the betterment of the community. Ford is Greater Cleveland's largest private-sector employer, with about 14,000 employees at six area plants and office.
