FORMER HCFA HEAD WILENSKY JOINS UNITED HEALTHCARE BOARD

 MINNEAPOLIS, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The United HealthCare Corporation (NYSE: UNH) board of directors has elected to the board Gail R. Wilensky, former administrator of the United States Health Care Financing Administration and deputy assistant to the president for policy development from 1992-1993, for a term expiring in 1996.
 "Gail Wilensky brings to our board expertise representing 20 years' experience in national health care policy and policy making, and in directing the nation's Medicare and Medicaid programs," said William W. McGuire, M.D., UHC chairman and chief executive officer. "Her perspectives will be invaluable as we move United HealthCare forward."
 Dr. Wilensky, who currently is a senior fellow with Project HOPE, Bethesda, Md., and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan, also serves as a trustee of the Combined Benefits Fund of the United Mine Workers of America.
