 FORD REPORTS UNITED WAY RESULTS
DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Pledges by Ford Motor

Company (NYSE: F) employees and a gift from the Ford Motor Company Fund will add $11.69 million to the 1992 United Way for Southeastern Michigan campaign.
"I'm really proud of the generous giving by the whole Ford team," said Ed Hagenlocker, vice president -- General Operations, Ford North American Automotive Operations. "The commitment of Ford employees to reach out and help others says a lot about the caliber of all our employees, the UAW and other represented unions."
Mr. Hagenlocker, who served as Ford's campaign chair this year, reported the contribution at the United Way luncheon held today at the Grand Manor at Fairlane.
Ernie Lofton, vice president and director of the UAW National Ford Department, said, "Ford employees have a long tradition of supporting the United Way. This year's campaign was a cooperative effort by all Ford employees -- local unions and hourly employees, salaried employees and management."
This is the 12th consecutive year that Ford led metro Detroit companies in raising money for the United Way. This year's employee pledge of $10.36 million was combined with a Ford Motor Company Fund gift of $1.33 million. In the 44 years that Ford has participated in the United Way drive, employees and the company have contributed more than $265 million to the Southeastern Michigan campaign.
