 FORD ANNOUNCES SERVICE ACTION
DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company

(NYSE: F) is notifying owners of a safety issue involving about 337,200 North American-produced 1984-85 model year Mustang and Capri vehicles. A small plastic component that is part of each front seat belt tongue assembly may deteriorate due to long term exposure to direct sunlight. If this occurs, it is possible that the tongue could separate from the belt webbing, and the belt would no longer be functional.
Owners will be notified of this potential concern by mail and advised that if the condition occurs, they should take their vehicles to dealers for repair at no charge.
About 30,300 of these vehicles are located in Canada.
