 FORD ANNOUNCES SERVICE ACTION
DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statements

may be attributed to John P. King, Parts and Service Engineering Office manager, Ford Parts and Service Division.
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is voluntarily recalling 641,562 1990- and 1991-model-year Aerostar vehicles with 3.0-liter engines, and Tempo and Topaz vehicles with 2.3-liter engines to replace the throttle position sensors. The throttle position sensors in these vehicles may wear prematurely, possibly causing the vehicles to exceed carbon monoxide emission standards.
Owners will be notified by mail and asked to return the vehicles to their dealers to have the work performed at no cost.
Of the vehicles affected, 528,041 are located in the United States, 107,060 are in Canada and 6,461 are in export locations.
Ford also is voluntarily recalling approximately 481 1991-model F-150 Series light trucks with 5.0-liter engines and automatic transmissions built for sale in California and the high altitudes to replace the Electronic Engine Control processor. These vehicles may exceed the California standards for emissions.
To correct this condition, dealers are being asked to replace the EEC processors in order to ensure acceptable emissions standards.
Owners will be notified by mail and asked to return the vehicles to their dealers to have the work performed at no cost.
