 FORD'S WOODHAVEN STAMPING PLANT RECEIVES Q1 AWARD
 WOODHAVEN, Mich., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company's


(NYSE: F) Woodhaven Stamping Plant today received the company's Q1 Quality Achievement Award, the 87th Ford facility worldwide to be so honored.
 The award recognizes Ford plants "as having achieved a high level of excellence, and as having in place processes and systems for continuous improvement in meeting customers' needs and expectations."
 Henry Nickol, Ford vice president and general manager - Vehicle Operations, and Joe Reilly, assistant director, UAW National Ford Department, presented the quality award to Eugene Galinis, plant manager, and Jim Hall, president of UAW Local 387.
 "Winning Q1 is a major achievement for any Ford plant," Nickol said. "Woodhaven's achievement is clear and convincing evidence that the men and women of Ford Motor Company are capable of competing with any automaker in the world in producing quality products."
 Woodhaven Stamping currently makes major sheet metal body component stampings for all of the company's North American vehicles except the Ford Aerostar.
 The plant, which opened in 1965 manufacturing quarter panels for the Ford Mustang, has 2,500 employees.
