HOW is it that Mirror TV critics Charlie Catchpole and Tony Purnell don't seem to have noticed that foot- and-mouth has struck Emmerdale (Pages 9 and 39, Tuesday)?

The disease has been mentioned several times, including when Zoe complained that she could not visit Cathy because of it.

The answer is that our critics watch advance videos of the show and the references to foot and mouth were inserted by Yorkshire TV at the last minute to keep up-to-date storylines in the programme.

MANCHESTER United will not be playing Charlton on the day before the FA cup semi-final at Old Trafford because the game has been postponed, as we report on the sports pages today. Nor will they be playing Manchester City on that day, as they never were going to (Page 58, Tuesday).

BOMBAY was renamed Mumbai. (Page 27, Tuesday).
