 FOR OUTDOOR PLAY THIS HALLOWEEN,
A WINGED BALL THAT FLIES AND SCREECHES LIKE A BAT
CLEVELAND, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Kids love balls of all shapes, sizes and colors. Popular today are balls that bounce, soar and squish when squeezed. The newest ball to take the playground by storm is the Batball(R) from CAP Toys which throws like a ball and flies like a bat.
The Batball is made of durable, black polyurethane soft foam and has black plastic "face" and ears. It has flexible rubber wings which provide stability and actually flap as the ball soars through the air.
"Bats and other ghoulish toys and games are hot," said John Osher, president of Cleveland-based CAP Toys.
"With Halloween approaching, there is always increased interest in bats, black cats, witches, ghosts and goblins. This year, popular feature films like "Batman Returns" and "The Addams Family," have rekindled kids and teens love of the macabre and grotesque."
To throw the Batball, simply grasp it between your index and middle finger, on top of the ball and between its wings. When thrown with a wrist-rolling action, the ball will spin and an eerie "whirring" bat- like screech is emitted from its mouth.
"Why just throw a ball when you can toss a bat?," Osher says.
The Batball retails for approximately $3.99 and will be available at Toys 'R Us and wherever toys and novelties are sold.
