FOOTBALL: Thistle aim high; JUNIORS ROUND-UP East / West.

BATHGATE THISTLE kick-off their East Superleague campaign today with a batch of major new signings.

And manager William Hill wants an immediate pay-off, starting today against Oakley United.

Hill said: 'Having signed Colin McKinnon, Sean Sweeney, Barry Elliot and Alan Neil, we have to make an impact on all fronts.

'I have told the players that the League and Scottish Cup are our targets and why shouldn't weaim for the top?

'The expectation level is higher due to the quality we've brought in but that's something we'll have to cope with.'

The Creamery Park side will have Ross Forsyth in goal but Paul Ferguson and Alan Mooney are injured while Stewart Ritchie is suspended.

Linlthgow Rose have added ex-Dunfermline midfielder Marc Millar, keeper Jon Connolly, Neil Bennett, Lee Dair and striker Paddy Flannery as they entertain Lochee United.

Craig Valentine and John Elliot will line up for Bonnyrigg Rose against Carnoustie, while Bo'ness have Maltese international Simon Vella on board for the trip to Tayport.

In the West region, Kilsyth miss striker Michael Hughes in the Abercorn League Cup tie against Dunipace, while Rob Roy have added ex-Raith defender Paul Bonar against Cumbernauld.

Wishaw could include Ben Smith against Coltness and Shettleston take on Vale of Clyde.
