FOOTBALL: JUNIORS BOOK COMRADES TIE; Larne 1 Killyleagh 2.

Byline: PAUL CAMPBELL

JUNIORS Killyleagh booked a home quarter final Nationwide Irish Cup tie with Ballyclare Comrades after they overcame Larne at Inver Park last night.

Larne had the ball in the net on 24 minutes when Scott Drummond knocked in a loose ball - but it was ruled out for offside.

Killyleagh got their noses in front after 63 minutes.

Stephen Holland hit in a low cross from the right for Michael O'Hagan to dive and steer his header past keeper Andy McDonald.

It could have been 2-0 three minutes later when an attempted clearance by McDonald rebounded off Peter Gilgunn.

With 15 minutes left Larne grabbed an equaliser.

Gareth Walsh swung in a corner from the right which was met perfectly by Alan Murphy whose header rebounded off the underside of the crossbar before crossing the line.

But within a minute the juniors were back in the driving seat.

Damien Kelly, who had joined the fray six minutes earlier cut in from the right before sending a superb strike from all of 25 yards past McDonald into the net.

With only a minute remaining Larne wasted a chance to take the game into extra time.

McCourt got to the by-line and crossed for Dickson who sent his header wide of the target from close range.
