FOOTBALL: Wolves sack boss Jones.

WOLVES have parted company with manager Dave Jones.

The Black Country outfit have made a dismal start to the season, with the club lying in 19th place in the Coca Cola Championship.

A 1-0 defeat by relegation battlers Gillingham on Saturday proved the final straw and chairman Rick Hayward met with Jones this morning.

Wolves were relegated from the Premiership last season and, despite talk of promotion, six defeats in 15 games have left them only three places above the relegation zone.
