FOOTBALL: WE'LL WIN IT THIS TYNE; IN YOUR GREAT MANIA PULL OUT.
NEWCASTLE striker Alan Shearer last night set his sights on a return to Wembley after yesterday's 4-1 thrashing of Everton. After being drawn against Barnsley or Spurs in the FA Cup semi-finals, he said:
"We would love to set the record straight. We didn't play well against Arsenal in last year's final and we'd love to get another shot at Wembley.
"You need a bit of luck as Arsenal proved last season and, who knows, this could be our year."
But the FA Cup dream final will be played out at the semi-final stage after yesterday's draw.
Premiership leaders Manchester United or title chasers Chelsea will play double holders Arsenal on Sunday, April 11. United and the Blues fought out a goalless draw at Old Trafford yesterday.
Chelsea face United again in a replay this Wednesday at Stamford Bridge - and that means only Arsenal and Newcastle have definitely reached the last four.
United boss Alex Ferguson relished the prospect of a possible semi-final showpiece with the old enemy, Arsenal.
Arsenal are 2-1 FA Cup favourites, Tottenham are 3-1, Newcastle 4-1, Chelsea 9-2, Manchester United 5-1 and Barnsley are 40-1.
