FOOTBALL: New role for Clarke at Southam.
He has assumed coaching responsibilities for the clubs' 16 teams at various levels.
Southam chairman Charles Hill said: "We have undergone a re-alignment of responsibilities.
"Ian new role is a genuine coaching post with huge responsibilities - not just some airy-fairy, meaningless title of Director of Football - as we seek to further improve standards and develop players through to the respective first teams."
Southam are now looking for a new manager after finishing bottom-but- one of the Premier Division of the ICIS Midland Combination, a year after being wooden spoonists.
Hill said: "The past two seasons have been very disappointing as far as first team onfield performances and results are concerned and we cannot afford the same again.
Ian has worked extremely hard to turn things around but, for whatever reason, he has been unable to do so.
"We are now looking for a first team manager with relevant experience and a successful track record at this level who can bring in additional quality players to add to those already here.
"We are hopeful that we will retain our Premier Division status for the forthcoming season but, whichever division we find ourselves playing in next season, we are more determined than ever to make a success of it as we seek to re-establish Southam United as the leading football club in South Warwickshire.
"I am confident that we will have a new manager in place within the next two weeks."
