FOOTBALL: Georgi is a genius; Partick 0 Dundee 2.
GEORGIAN genius Georgi Nemsadze led Dundee to a rousing 2-0 victory at Partick on his comeback.
The playmaker, out of action for two and a half months with a knee ligament injury, troubled the Jags throughout the afternoon.
Jim Duffy's side took the lead after 14 minutes when Martin Hardie committed a late challenge on Lee Wilkie and Nemsadze sent a 25-yard right-footed curler into the top corner.
Thistle dug in and fought hard but they were denied an equaliser when a magnificent reflex save from Julian Speroni kept out Jerry Britton's volleyed effort from Hardie's cross on 26 minutes.
After the break, Thistle continued to press and the Dundee keeper did well to cut Hardie's angle and the Jags man could only blast over after David Lilley had played him in.
Thistle never gave up the fight but this was a day when the visitors hardworking and battling players got the job done.
For so long labelled the Harlem Globetrotters of Scottish football, Dundee out fought one of the most spirited sides in the country.
And with nine minutes left Scotland international Gavin Rae, outstanding all day, finished excellently after a break away to kill off the home side.
