FOOTBALL: DENIS GETS A DOUBLE.

WEST Bromwich manager Denis Smith has swooped to sign the former Italian Under-18 midfielder Enzo Maresca and Austrian international striker Herfied Sabitzer on free transfers.

Smith has also revealed he is keen to sign the Genoa duo of striker Marco Napi and midfielder Mario Bortolazzi - also on free transfers.

Like Sabitzer and Maresca, they will command lucrative personal terms and Smith said: "I will have to find more money, but that is my problem. There will always be a place in my team for quality players, but they will have to prove themselves."

Maresca has agreed a four-year deal, Sabitzer joins for three years.

Maresca has also played for Italy at under-16 level and spent last season at Cagliari.

Sabitzer, 28, scored 22 goals in 37 games for GAK Graz last season and only just missed out on a World Cup squad place.

Smith is also looking to bring former Dutch international Rob Witschge in for a trial next week.
