FOOTBALL: Bay slip to tenth defeat in 11 games; Burscough ......... 3 Colwyn Bay .........0.

COLWYN BAY went down 2-0 at Burscough in the UniBond League Premier Division - their tenth defeat in the last 11 matches.

The Welsh side almost took the lead in the fourth minute as a shot from Lee Kissock clipped the outside of a post.

But Burscough took the lead on 21 minutes as John Lawless set up Lee Madin to score.

Madin almost added a second seven minutes before the break with a well driven shot that keeper Matt Boswell did well to push around the post.

On 44 minutes Bay lost Paul Jones, dismissed for pulling back Gary Martindale as the Burscough striker drove forward on goal.

Martindale made it two six minutes into the second half with a quickly taken free-kick that left Boswell rooted to the spot.

With three minutes remaining 17-year-old Steve Brown put Chris McHale clear and the big striker finished in confident style.
