FOOTBALL: BRENTFORD PIN HOPES ON MONEY-SPINNER; Luton 0 Brentford 2.

BRENTFORD are hoping for a change of fortune in the fourth round FA Cup draw after a superb win away at Luton.

The Bees have not been paired with a top-flight team in the competition since they famously reached the quarter-finals in 1989.

And although that run ended with a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, the west Londoners would welcome another money-spinning tie against one of the Premiership big-guns to boost their finances for a promotion push.

This all-League One clash was settled in the final 20 minutes when Chris Hargreaves and Jay Tabb both breached the Luton defence to give Brentford the victory. But their priority remains matching the Hatters in the league and securing a place in the Championship next season.

Manager Martin Allen said: "Luton are not second in the league and top of the league for most of the season for no reason. Coming here in this Cup draw, everybody again said we were underdogs but the players showed tremendous character and tremendous resolve. They're willing to listen and learn.

"But at times I still have to pinch myself that this is happening to me."
