ANGRY Brendan Rodgers has told Luis Suarez it was "unacceptable" for him to admit to diving.

The Liverpool boss yesterday warned the controversial striker he could damage Liverpool's push for glory.

The Uruguayan faces internal action after claiming he deliberately "invented a foul" to try to win a penalty against Stoke.

Suarez has apologised to his boss but the FA are expected to investigate and issue a warning.

Rodgers (right) revealed he had read the riot act after the forward revisited the October incident, not least because it could create a backlash from referees.

He said: "Whatever way you look at it, it's something in the game that we are trying to clean up. Luis is aware of my feelings.

"It is not something we advocate and no one is bigger than the club. I think it's wrong. It's unacceptable.

"It will be dealt with internally. He totally understands where I am coming from.

"I just call it like it is. I said at the time it was the wrong thing to do.

"I need to protect the club and if anything puts that TURN TO PAGE 79

Rodgers has complained Bitterly his striker's reputation goes before him, and with the Merseyside outfit winning just one penalty all season, he 'tappears to have a case.

"He admitted: "Personally, my own feeling as the manager of this club is that it was wrong.

"It's been difficult for us this season with regards penalties.

We've only had one.

"But this situation might affect people's thinking.

I'm not saying it will do, but it could do."
