 FOODLAND DISTRIBUTORS' TEAMSTERS RATIFY CONTRACT
 LIVONIA, Mich., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Foodland Distributors


employees represented by Teamsters Union Local 337 have ratified a contract with the Livonia-based grocery wholesaler. Teamsters members at Foodland Distributors include more than 600 warehousemen, mechanics and drivers.
 Contract negotiations began in late January and concluded May 1, when union leaders recommended acceptance of the contract. The members voted to ratify the contract by a 4-to-1 margin on May 1, 1992. The four-year contract takes effect immediately.
 "I'm very pleased that this contract has been ratified," said Greg Gallus, president and chairman of the board of Foodland Distributors. "I want to thank all Foodland Distributors employees for their patience and cooperation during the negotiating process."
 Foodland Distributors employs more than 1,000 people at its Livonia headquarters. The company, the largest grocery wholesaler in Michigan, services 165 supermarkets in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
