There are five days to go before we are once again forced by society, card shops and St Valentine to declare our love for our partners. You may be planning the usual - dinner, chocolates, champagne, flowers.

But whatever you do, in this digital day and age, you are bound to be recording it in some way. Social networking sites will be bombarded with posts and images of your February 14 and what you and your other half did to mark "the most romantic day of the year". When you are taking your photos here's some advice: If there is chocolate involved, make sure it isn't smeared all over your teeth. Roses? Hope you don't cut off their heads and Champagne.. try to capture something other than your finger.

In fact, scrap that. The best bit of advice I can give is to treat yourselves and go get a professional photograph done - and for not much more than the price of a dozen red roses - which will wither and die in a few days any way.

Make-up artist Paddy McGurgan and photographer Khara Pringle have joined forces by opening a joint studio in the heart of Belfast. With hi-tech facilities and a vast range of the best make-up from around the world (sourced by Paddy himself) the Make-Up Pro Studio on Royal Avenue looks like it has been transported straight out of LA.

Paddy's best pal and acclaimed photographer Khara has set up her studio upstairs so professional fashion campaigns, model portfolios and celebrity shoots can be carried out all under the same roof.

And this Valentine's Day the dynamic duo are offering loved-up couples the chance to come in, have their makeup done and get professional photos taken - for just PS170. You'll surely get your followers all tweeting and liking when you post that photo on Instagram.

Here's a selection of couples who put their love in focus.

Oh, and don't mind the two who ended up arguing during the interview.. we love each other really!

We had great chemistry and kept bumping into each other. One thing led to another and bam! Our first date was in the carpark of Carryduff McDonalds.

What is the most romantic thing each has done for the other? Laurina: Our Christmas gift to each other was a romantic trip to Paris.

We went for four days over New Year's Eve. It was amazing standing at the Eiffel Tower and getting a midnight kiss from him with fireworks in the background.

What is the most annoying thing about each other? Laurina: After he has a shower, every towel I own seems to be used and on the ground. The most annoying thing about me is that Connor hates my driving. He is a slow and steady kinda guy while I'm slightly speedy. I think he once said it was like being in the North West 200 when we were only going to the shop for a pint of milk.

Northern Fashion's Niamh McEneaney and Jason McKenna, Engineer How we met: Niamh: It was a very romantic (and drunken) night in Stiff Kitten four years ago. We noticed each other and kept exchanging looks. This went on for an hour. Eventually it took both of our best friends to set us up - like kids in a playground.

What is the most romantic thing you've done for each other? Niamh: When I was buying my first car I wanted a white Suzuki Swift. It had to be white. The nearest one was in Scotland so Jason got a ferry and train to Edinburgh and then drove it the whole way back - in freezing temperatures. Jason: Niamh's not romantic...I am hopeful though.

What is the most annoying thing about each other? Niamh: Jason's a Mechanical Engineer and talks about his work in WAY too much detail. Jason: Niamh deems all things technical to be unimportant.

Niamh: The same goes for Jason and fashion.

So we try not to mix business and pleasure.

Journalist Mary Johnston & husband Pete have been married for 40 years How they met: Mary: Pete had been dating two of my pals before he met me. I fancied him already. Pete: I noticed her at local discos and fancied her because she looked aloof and haughty.

What is the most romantic thing each has done for the other? Mary: Pete isn't remotely romantic. He is honest, generous and rather amusing. Pete: Mary's never been enthused about flowers, chocolates or surprises.

What is the most annoying thing about each other? Mary: Pete's a sporting fanatic and he's not very tolerant. Pete: Her butterfly brain drives me insane.

Recipe for lasting relationship.. Never give up on each other no matter what the circumstances.
