FNS OFFERS NEWSPAPERS FREE CONSUMER BANKING COLUMN
MARENGO, Ill., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Financial News

Syndicate (FNS) has announced it is providing, on request, the syndicated consumer-banking column "You and Your Bank," written by Edward F. Mrkvicka Jr., author of the critically acclaimed "The Bank Book" (Harper Collins).
The approximately 600-word monthly column is being offered to newspapers on a three-month trial basis.
Mrkvicka, author of numerous books on banking and personal finance, is a recognized expert on consumer banking, has appeared on over 400 radio stations, and has been featured/published in numerous periodicals, such as Money magazine, USA Today, Boardroom Reports, and the Chicago Tribune. He is often referred to as "the Ralph Nader of consumer banking."
In reference to his work, William Donoghue of Tribune Media Services writes, "His insider advice is invaluable and will help you save money and get the most from your bank." Encore's Beth Perry states, "What is most compelling is his insider knowledge and the conviction with which he writes." John Simpson of the Memphis Business Journal wrote, "Mrkvicka reveals some shocking bank practices and provides inside tips your banker never wanted you to know about, as well as saving -- and earning -- strategies that can save thousands of dollars."
Mrkvicka stated: "Consumer banking is the one financial topic that is almost universally ignored and/or misunderstood. While there are many articles/columns for those that have money to invest, very little information is available on how to negotiate a loan, earn more on your escrow account, avoid overdrafts, investigate your bank, prepare a winning loan application, avoid the credit card treadmill, and other everyday transactions that affect almost everyone. To my knowledge, my column is the only one devoted exclusively to bank consumers."
In order to protect markets, FNS will provide Mrkvicka's column on a first serve basis. Call Ed Mrkvicka at 815-568-8267 or fax your request to 815-568-0487.
