 FMC'S JOAN LARSON RECOGNIZED BY PRESIDENT BUSH
 SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Joan E. Larson has


been recognized by President Bush as the nation's outstanding corporate small business coordinator. Larson, Small Business Liaison Officer, for FMC's Ground Systems Division in San Jose, received the award at a White House ceremony honoring accomplishments in the development of minority business.
 Since 1989, FMC (NYSE: FMC) has exceeded the Federal requirement that major defense contractors allot at least 5 percent of purchases to women/minority-owned businesses. In 1990, over 7 percent of purchases was allotted; in 1991, 8.5 percent, and the company projects 10 percent in 1992.
 Larson will be the 1992 Industry Council for Small Business Development procurement fair chairperson at the Santa Clara Convention Center on June 3 and 4. The Industry Council for Small Business Development based in Sunnyvale is a group of large government contractors whose purpose is to maintain and develop a strong small business supplier base.
 "Where Big Business and Small Business Meet" is the title for the council's June 3 and 4 trade show. The event will enable small and minority-owned businesses to network with large business purchasing managers and representatives.
 On behalf of the council, Larson will be receiving a proclamation of support from Gov. Pete Wilson at the council's awards banquet to be held at the conclusion of the first day of the trade show.
