FM scoops international accounting awards.

Financial Management (formerly Management Accounting) scooped three awards in the International Federation of Accountant's Financial and Management Accounting Committee (FMAC) Articles of Merit programme 1999. The awards ceremony was held on 19 January 2001 at CIMA's council meeting. Bill Connell, council member and chairman of FMAC praised all the award winners for their contribution to management accounting. The three award-winning articles were:

1. "Financing renewable energy: creating the right package of incentives for a level playing field for commercial electricity production from wind turbines", David Russell and Ashok Patel, January 1999.

2. "Management recipes: an alternative to thinking", Neil Ritson, March 1999.

3. "Throughput accounting: exploding an urban myth", Steven Balderstone and Stephen Keep, October 1999.
