FLUOR UNIT AWARDED TVA WORK IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- A unit of Fluor Corp.
(NYSE: FLR), FD Engineers & Constructors Inc., was awarded by the Tennessee Valley Authority two three-year agreements with two two- year renewal options. The value of the agreements over the three- year period is approximately $240 million.
FD Engineers & Constructors will perform supplemental maintenance, modification and capital improvement services at six fossil-fueled power plants located in the TVA's western region which includes Tennessee and Kentucky. The scope of work includes project management, maintenance and construction labor support, and supplemental services such as planning, scheduling, estimating and field engineering. Manpower levels will range between 100 and 1,500 employees depending on program needs. The TVA, based in Knoxville, Tenn., is one of the nation's largest producers of electric power and supplies electricity to more than 7 million people in Tennessee and parts of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina and Virginia.
