FLUOR DANIEL AWARDED CONTRACT BY NORTON CO. IRVINE, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluor Daniel has been awarded a
contract by Norton Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Paris-based Compagnie de Saint-Gobain. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Fluor Daniel's industrial sector is providing detailed engineering and construction management services for a 76,000-square- foot advanced ceramics electronics center to be built adjacent to an existing ceramics production plant located in Worcester, Mass., approximately 40 miles west of Boston. Detailed engineering is under way in Fluor Daniel's Greenville, S.C. offices. The electronics center will house furnaces, equipment and technology for the production of high-purity ceramic products used for wafer processing in the semiconductor industry. Norton Co. is the world's largest manufacturer of abrasives and produces technologically advanced ceramics, plastics and chemical process products.
