FLUOR DANIEL AWARDED AUSTRALIAN CONTRACT IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluor Daniel has been
awarded a contract by Mount Isa Mines Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Brisbane, Australia-based MIM Holdings. The value of the contract is approximately $40 million.
Fluor Daniel's Industrial Sector will provide engineering, procurement and construction management services to improve metal recoveries from the milling and flotation facilities at a 3.6- million-ton-per-year lead, zinc and silver mine located in northern Queensland, approximately 1,000 miles northwest of Brisbane. Engineering is under way in Fluor Daniel's Melbourne, Australia, office with project completion scheduled for late 1992. Mount Isa Mine is one of the world's richest and largest ore deposits. MIM Holdings is a large producer of copper, lead, zinc, silver and gold with interest in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
