FLUKE DECLARES 17TH CONSECUTIVE QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDEND, REPORTS CHANGE IN FISCAL YEAR-END

EVERETT, Wash., Nov. 18 ~PRNewswire~ -- John Fluke Mfg. Co. Inc . (AMEX: FKM; PSE) board of directors met on Nov. 12, 1992, and declared the company's 17th consecutive quarterly cash dividend to be paid on Jan. 15, 1993, to stockholders of record as of Dec. 25, 1992. The dividend will be increased to 13 cents per share.
In a separate action, the board approved changing Fluke's fiscal year-end from the last Friday in September to the last Friday in April, starting in 1993.
"For some time we have felt that changing our fiscal year-end would help us to be more effective in our operational and budget planning. In addition, the proposed Philips acquisition offered a more compelling reason to take this action now. Under the September year-end, the traditional European vacation schedules would fall in the middle of our strategic planning and budgeting cycle," said George Winn, president and chief operating officer.
Fluke's mission is to be the leader in compact, professional electronic test tools. Fluke focuses on customers in service, manufacturing test, and quality functions in a variety of industries.
Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Everett, Fluke employs more than 2,100 people worldwide, producing revenues of $271.8 million in its most recent fiscal year, ended Sept. 25, 1992.
Fluke is a publicly held company, traded under the symbol "FKM" on the American Stock Exchange.
