FLUID MANAGEMENT ACQUIRES LEADING AUSTRALIAN FIRM

CHICAGO, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitchell H. Saranow, chairman of Fluid Management L.P., today announced his firm's acquisition of Strastint International Pty, Ltd., Australia's leading manufacturer of colorant dispensers for the paint industry. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Fluid Management, based in Wheeling, Ill., has offices and distributors around the world. It is one of the world's leading manufacturers of fluid metering and mixing equipment, with particular strength in the paint and coatings industry. Strastint is Australia's and New Zealand's leading manufacturer of manual dispensers used for point-of-sale applications for custom-tinted paints.
"The Fluid Management and Strastint organizations now can share know-how and distribute each other's products on a worldwide basis. Strastint will remain an independent and autonomous operation and we now can offer a complete line of products in Australia, including the most widely used automated dispensers in the world," said William Somers, Strastint's chairman.
"Strastint has produced manual colorant dispensers for 20 years and our new affiliation will significantly strengthen our position. We will now be able to offer Fluid Management's complete line including its Harbil, Miller and Skandex brands of automated dispensers and mixers. Clearly, this will be of great long-term value to our customers," Somers said.
Saranow noted, "We see tremendous long-term benefits from our investment in Strastint. We will be able to offer our customers new product features which complement our current line. Also, we'll be able to offer our equipment through Strastint's distribution channels in Australia and elsewhere."
Based 50 miles south of Sydney, Strastint is Australia's leading supplier of custom color dispension equipment. Its customers include most of the major paint and coatings manufacturers in Australia and new Zealand. In recent years, Strastint has successfully introduced its products into Europe, Asia and North America.
Fluid Management L.P. (together with its European subsidiary, Fluid Management Europe C.V. of Sassenheim, Holland) is the world's leading manufacturer of dispensing and mixing equipment for the paint and coatings industry. Worldwide revenues exceed $50 million.
