FLORIO, WHITMAN STAFFS TO RECEIVE NEW JERSEY 'ENVIRONMENTAL PENCILS'
PARSIPPANY, N.J., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- To help frame the election debate on New Jersey environmental issues, the campaign staffs of gubernatorial candidates Jim Florio and Christine Todd Whitman are being offered a quantity of unique "environmental pencils" manufactured by a company located in New Jersey. Instead of wood, the barrel of the pencil is made entirely of recycled newspaper and cardboard fiber. Designed to help conserve U.S. natural resources, the EcoWriter(TM), manufactured by Eberhard Faber, Inc., of Parsippany, functions like an ordinary yellow pencil in every respect. "New Jersey rightly considers itself in the forefront of the national recycling picture, so it seems most appropriate for the candidates and their staffs to communicate with a writing instrument that has the environment uppermost in mind," John Brandewie, of Eberhard Faber, said. -0- 9/27/93 /CONTACT: Danielle Kazmier or Saul Bennett of Robert Marston Marketing Communications, Inc., 212-371-2200/
