 WINTER HAVEN, Fla., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) announced the winners of its annual Golden Image competition at a banquet Saturday night (Aug. 21) in Jacksonville. The Golden Image competition honors the best public relations programs, printed materials and audio visual presentations executed around the state during the past year.
 The Golden Image competition sets a standard of public relations excellence in the state of Florida. Golden Image winners are selected by incorporating sound public relations research and planning and meeting the highest standards of production, execution and evaluation of results and budget.
 The evening's big winner was Karen Bonsignori of Roberts Communications based in Tampa, for a public education program titled "Head's Up!" implemented for the Department of Transportation. The program won the prestigious Dick Pope All Florida Golden Image Award, the highest award presented.
 The Eye Centers of Florida, based in Fort Myers, won the Grand Printed Tools Award for its brochure package and Michelle Cooper with Dairy Farmer's Inc. in Orlando won the Grand Audio-Visual Award for her "Make Mine Milk" video.
 The evening's other big winner was Wordwise, Inc., an Orlando-based public relations agency that accumulated a total of ten separate awards.
 Golden Image entries are judged in one of three divisions: public relations programs, printed tools and audio visual presentations. The top scoring entries in 33 separate categories receive Golden Image Awards at the judges' discretion, while other entries that have achieved high standards of excellence receive Awards of Distinction. Judges Awards are given to outstanding entries that achieve maximum results while using a minimum amount of money.

 The Florida Public Relations Association is a profe development group with over 900 members throughout the state of Florida. The association is more than 55 years old and is the largest state-wide public relations organization in the United States. FPRA has 16 chapters that meet regularly to promote professional development and encourage networking among public relations practitioners.
