FLORIDA PREPAID COLLEGE PROGRAM DEADLINE JAN. 10

FLORIDA PREPAID COLLEGE PROGRAM DEADLINE JAN. 10
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The deadline for the

Florida Prepaid College Program 1991-92 enrollment period is Jan. 10, 1992.
Since the program's inception in 1988, over 146,000 contracts have been sold, making this the most successful program of its kind in the United States. This year, contract sales have reached 8,537 compared to last year at this time with 5,324 contract sales. Telephone inquiries to the toll-free number have reached 23,949 compared to 17,538 last year.
Interested applicants can get information on the Program by contacting the toll-free number, 800-552-GRAD, or by inquiring at any First Union National Bank office or Southeast Bank office in Florida. Applications must be postmarked or dropped off at any First Union or Southeast office by Jan. 10.
Through this program, the State of Florida financially guarantees payment of the contracted state tuition and dormitory fees at the time of college enrollment. The program allows parents, grandparents, relatives or others to prepay a child's tuition at one of Florida's nine state universities or 28 community colleges at predetermined rates, lower than the projected rate at the time of future enrollment. Dormitory plans are also available with the four-year university plan.
The program is flexible, providing several payment plans to meet the needs of all income levels. It is the first Prepaid Program in the nation to offer either a lump-sum payment or the choice of easy monthly payment plans to prepay tuition and dormitory costs for children through the 11th grade.
