FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT ISSUES A STATEMENT ON
 INDIVIDUALS POSING AS FPL CONTRACTORS
MIAMI, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Power & Light Company has been notified that certain individuals in Dade and Broward Counties are posing as FPL contractors willing to cut and remove fallen or storm- damaged trees for money. FPL does not authorize anyone to cut or remove trees for pay, nor does FPL charge customers when it is necessary to cut trees in order to access power lines and equipment. FPL's tree trimming contractors are paid by the company to help line crews gain access to electric facilities and to cut away only as much of the damaged trees and shrubbery as is necessary to restore service.
